Här behandlas offentliganställdas kamp med olika administrativa system och nya skyddsåtgärder presenteras: olika försök att mota bort känslor av maktlöshet och etisk stress.\nTiteln på utställningen är lånad från Riksbanken: dess devis “Hinc robur et securitas” är en form av besvärjelse tänkt att garantera den svenska kronans värde. På detta och andra sätt använder sig institutioner och företag av kraftord som befäster dem, frammanar och förkroppsligar dem i vår vardag. Ibland under obehagliga former.\nHär föreslås en motrörelse – en skymningsbyråkratisk gemenskap av agerande tjänstepersoner som uppfinner olika tekniker för att undkomma frustrationen, skapa fredade zoner, ta över kraftorden och hälla in värme i institutionernas mellanrum.\nVerken i utställningen utgör småskaliga, men samtidigt kraftfulla, ceremoniella handlingar presenterade i ett pedagogiskt format.\nJohn Huntington ( https://johnhuntington.se ) (f. 1981, Göteborg) verkar i en konceptuell tradition uttryckt genom performance, skulptur, fotografi, text och installationer. Med olika former av interventioner och påståenden ifrågasätter han förgivettagna överenskommelser om vardagsliv, arbetsmiljöer, offentliga institutioner och politiska rum. Han är också medgrundare till de båda institutionerna Kanslibyrån (med Per-Arne Sträng) och Frihetsförmedlingen (med Lars Noväng).\nENG\nHence Strength and Security\nAn exhibition of experimental strategies from the alternative sides of bureaucracy and the undercurrents of administration. The show deals with the struggle that public servants have with different administrative systems. New protective measures are presented: various attempts to ward off feelings of powerlessness and ethical stress.\nThe title of the exhibition is borrowed from the Swedish Riksbank: the motto “Hinc robur et securitas”, is a form of incantation intended to guarantee the value of the Swedish krona. In this and other ways, institutions and companies use words of power to fortify themselves, embody and summon themselves into our everyday life. Sometimes in unpleasant forms.\nA counter-movement is proposed here – a twilight bureaucratic community of acting officials and clerks who invent various techniques to escape frustration, create safe spaces, take over the words of power and pour warmth into the institutional operations.\nThe works in the exhibition are small-scale, nonetheless powerful, ceremonial acts presented in an educational format.\nJohn Huntington ( https://johnhuntington.se ) (b. 1981, Gothenburg) works in a conceptual tradition expressed through performance, sculpture, photography, text and installations.
